Tutoring in German and English
Personal support for school pupils - focused, patient and aligned with the school's textbook and teacher.
Who the tutoring is for
- Pupils in years 5 to 13 at Realschule and Gymnasium
- Learners with a specific class test, vocabulary check or presentation coming up
- Abitur candidates preparing for written and oral exams
- Pupils who have fallen behind in English - or want to stay ahead
- Families looking for one-to-one support rather than large-group tutoring
How tutoring runs
- One-to-one or pair tutoring - never large group sessions
- In person in Heppenheim or online via video call (also at short notice)
- Weekly, before key class tests, or in a sprint towards the Abitur
- Worked directly with the school's textbook, notebook and teacher feedback
- Optional brief updates for parents - short and free of pedagogy jargon
Content as needed
- Catch up on grammar systematically instead of cramming before each test
- Reading comprehension and text analysis for written exams
- Writing: essays, summaries, comments and letters
- Oral exams: pronunciation, free speaking, typical task formats
- English Abitur: non-fiction texts, literature, comment, mediation
- Learning strategies - how to remember vocabulary and tackle texts efficiently
What typically changes
- Pupils start to see why grammar and vocabulary actually matter
- Class tests feel calmer because the strategies are in place
- Oral marks improve because we practise speaking, not just writing
- Abitur preparation becomes structured rather than panicked revision
Frequently asked questions
From which year do you take pupils?
From year 5. The focus is on lower and upper secondary, up to and including the Abitur.
Can I come at short notice before a class test?
Yes, if a slot is available. For ongoing support I recommend a fixed weekly time.
Do parents receive feedback?
On request, yes - short, honest and with one concrete next step. Often useful for younger pupils.
Does online tutoring really work?
For most pupils from year 7 upwards, yes. Younger or very restless learners often do better in person.
